What makes you different from other party entertainers?
Tillie and Matt is a small family run business, which has the time to go the extra mile. Our entertainers are hand picked and trained by us and are all working actors or teachers who genuinely enjoy entertaining.
Will there be an interval in the party for food and drink?
We suggest that you have a 20-minute refreshment break if your party is two hours or longer. During this time your entertainer could do glitter tattoos. If it’s a birthday party this is a great time to bring out the cake and sing ‘Happy Birthday’. You can then slice it up for party bags and the entertainer and children can continue with the party.
Do you offer sweets and prizes?
Yes, we bring sweets and prizes for every child. Please advise us if you have certain dietary or religious requirements, or if you would prefer that sweets are not given.
Do your entertainers dress up?
Yes, we have a huge selection of character costumes for our entertainers and we are always willing to extend our repertoire. We also have a standard Tillie and Matt uniform if you would prefer that.

Our entertainers are experienced in working with children and will endeavour to provide entertainment that suits your child. They will ring you in the week leading up to your party to discuss format and personal tastes, at this point any concerns you might have can be discussed. Your entertainer will arrive before the party starts to enable them to introduce themselves to your child before guests arrive.

No, we just provide the entertainment. But we do suggest that you have a 20-minute refreshment break if your party is two hours or longer. During this time your entertainer could do balloon modelling or glitter tattoos. If it’s a birthday party this is a great time to bring out the cake and sing ‘Happy Birthday’. You can then slice it up for party bags and the entertainer and children can continue with the party.

We operate a strict policy of one entertainer for up to 30 children. Please note that you must book two entertainers if you have more than 30 children. In addition, we will require parental supervision. This helps to ensure as much fun, personal attention and safety as possible.
How long is a Tillie and Matt party?
Our most popular party is the two-hour package but we also deliver a one-hour and one and a half hour package. Who is responsible for the children during the party?
We always request a minimum of two adults be present at all times throughout the entertainment. You do not need to get involved, but you should be on hand as a child may need the toilet, or a shoelace tied. It is just not possible for our entertainer(s) to attend to the needs of individual children while keeping the other children’s attention.
We cannot accept sole responsibility for the care of the children during the party.
Should other parents stay or go?
Parents of smaller children tend to stay and are very welcome to watch or join in with the entertainment, but we would kindly ask that they are aware of the level of their voices so as not to distract the children from hearing and enjoying the party!
Do I need a hall?
Not necessarily, but it is advisable if you do not have ample space at home or are having the whole class.
Can we hold the party in our own home?
If you want to have the party in your home please ensure you have enough open space for the number of children invited. It is vital to clear any hazardous ornaments or furniture, sharp edges and glass.
